Jesselle’s mom was so excited for this milestone and had the foresight to book her newborn photography session with JDLA Photography months in advance. Because Jesselle arrived a little early, we happily scheduled her actual session for when she was three weeks old, a common decision for many LA-based new parents.
Mom requested a gorgeous palette of whites and soft pinks, which perfectly complemented Jesselle’s delicate features. While I generally recommend the 7–14 day window, I was pleasantly surprised when our little 8lb model arrived sound asleep and still fit perfectly into my curated collection of newborn outfits and props.
Our session flowed beautifully. Jesselle transitioned smoothly through classic newborn poses, from the cozy "bum up" pose—where she looked like she was sleeping on a cloud—to a sweet sideline pose, even holding a tiny bear! Her parents were thrilled to see how comfortable and relaxed she was. It's often a concern that older babies won't like being moved, but Jesselle was a dream!
It was a joy to document these timeless newborn memories for this growing family.
