Honoring Miracle Babies: A NICU Newborn Session with a Los Angeles Photographer
It is an absolute honor when a family chooses me to be their Newborn Photographer in Los Angeles. While every session fills me with joy, this particular one—a beautiful tribute to a miracle baby—will stay with me forever, thanks to the sentimental story the parents shared.

Booking Your Los Angeles Newborn Session: Planning for the Unexpected
For both your peace of mind and my capacity, newborn sessions are typically booked during the last trimester of pregnancy. This allows me to carefully manage the number of Los Angeles newborn photography clients each month. We mark your due date and block out flexible time in the calendar, ensuring your baby can be photographed during the coveted 5–12 days of birth window, regardless of whether they arrive early or late.

NICU Newborn Photography: It’s Never Too Late
Rarely, a little fighter needs extra time, and I welcome the chance to photograph our special NICU graduates once they are home and thriving. When these parents reached out after their baby was discharged and had hit a healthy weight, I was immediately determined to capture these precious memories.
While these sessions often fall outside the "golden" window, I always maintain a warm, relaxed, and safe environment for every baby, especially my NICU newborns. We quickly secured the earliest possible availability. Upon arrival at my studio, we selected colors and props, and I prepared them for what I knew would be an emotional session.

A Rainbow Baby's Story: From 115 Days to Hope
In our brief preparation call, I mentioned they could bring any item of significance for the photos. The moment Mom pulled out an ultrasound photo, my heart melted. She shared that Baby J—who had spent an incredible 115 days in the NICU and now was almost four months old and 7 lbs—was their miracle baby. A gift sent by their previous angel baby.
Photographing Baby J with the ultrasound portrait of their angel sibling was incredibly moving. This session was a testament to hope: a rainbow baby and NICU graduate wrapped into one. I felt profoundly honored, not just to be chosen for their Newborn Photography session, but to be trusted enough to capture the story of two of their children.
Mom was eager for me to share her story, hoping to inspire other NICU parents who might think they missed their chance. To them, I say: It is not too late for newborn photos!
If your family has welcomed a NICU graduate and you’re looking for a compassionate Newborn Photographer in Los Angeles, please know that I would be truly honored to capture this incredible chapter for you.
